Announcing the promotion of Erik Newman to the position of Senior Design Engineer in the Vehicle Solutions group.
Erik’s diligently worked on numerous projects during his near ten-year tenure. His CAD design skills have grown allowing him to contribute on complex projects whether they incorporate customer geometry or start from a clean slate. Erik’s project highlights include Generac, Manitou, several John Deere modules, and the recent CAT 8 / 16 keypads project. His implementation of the soft-touch key design helped Grayhill continue to win new business with CAT including the recently completed Throttle-Keypad Module.
In addition to CAD design skills, Erik has contributed significantly to Grayhill VS design methodologies. Taking an active role in the validation efforts, Erik has identified product concerns and traced them back to root cause. Using designs-of-experiments he has demonstrated permanent corrective actions and then driven these design changes back into VS design methodologies. His work on module life testing has led to innovative force-constrained button actuation which has proven to eliminate “false” button life failures.
